OVERVIEW: EVERY WOMAN BIENNIAL, the wildly popular and world’s largest all woman and non- binary art biennial of its kind, is expanding for its 4th edition to be presented in two major cities simultaneously - London and New York - in June and July 2021.

Every Woman Biennial NYC/ NFT: The New York 2021 edition will present its 1st NFT Biennial in collaboration with Superchief Gallery NFT, the world's 1st physical gallery space dedicated to NFT art. Always evolving to provide inclusive opportunities to support women and non-binary artists, the aim of the Biennial is to give hundreds of artists, who are interested in exploring the new technology and mint NFTs, the opportunity to reach new audiences and sell their art on this platform. Every Woman Biennial London: The inaugural London edition will take to the streets with performances and public art, including transforming monuments, continuing the Biennial’s traditional salon-style gallery exhibitions showcasing and bringing together 200+ female and non-binary artists, and collaborating with organizations including: Queer Art Projects, London Festival of Architecture, Aether Magazine, The Rectory Projects, and more. Every Woman Biennial London programming directors are Eddy Grattan- Bellew and Ruby Streek, working with the New York founder C. Finley and Executive Producer Molly Caldwell.

The Biennial launched in NYC in 2014 by founder C. Finley, originally under the name, The Whitney Houston Biennial, as a way to provide a platform and exposure for more female artists. Each year, one of Whitney Houston’s songs that shouts out women lifting each other up, provides the title for the Biennial, as well as a block-party style street dance, and this year’s Biennial theme is MY LOVE IS YOUR LOVE. ____________________________________________________________________________________

NYC/NFT 2021: June 24 - July 3, 2021

WHAT: The 2021 Every Woman Biennial is presenting its 1st NFT Biennial, taking on and diversifying the NFT world. Always evolving to provide inclusive opportunities to support women and non-binary artists, the aim is to give hundreds of artists, who are interested in exploring the new technology and mint NFTs, the opportunity to reach new audiences and sell their art on this platform - especially important in this ongoing socially-distanced time. The exhibition is a carbon negative NFT exhibition.

HOW: Every Woman Biennial, in collaboration with Superchief Gallery NFT will hold a workshop to walk selected artists through minting their first NFTs and manage the Biennial.

WHEN:

●  May 10-17 NFT open call. Emerging and established artists will be chosen from the open call to participate in the NFT Biennial and taught how to mint their NFT art.

●  June 24-July 3 Every Woman Biennial MY LOVE IS YOUR LOVE NFT exhibition presented at Superchief Gallery NFT on a series of large screens in the gallery and on the NFT platform.

●  June 24 Opening Celebration for MY LOVE IS YOUR LOVE.

All are invited to join the kick off celebration: a participatory “dist-dance” to Whitney Houston’s “My Love Is Your Love” organized by C. Finley and Natalie Lomonte. One block from Superchief Gallery NFT, 6-8pm.

WHY: It's new and women and non-binary people are under-represented! We like to experiment with opportunities for artists to thrive. And while we love physically bringing together thousands of artists in community and celebration (and we will do that again in 2022 live and in person!), in this ongoing socially- distanced time, it seems like the right platform. No pressure, it’s not for everyone, but we’ll support artists who want to give it a whirl.

(May 25, 2021 NY/London) EVERY WOMAN BIENNIAL, the wildly popular and world’s largest all woman and non-binary art biennial of its kind, is expanding for its 4th edition to be presented in two major cities simultaneously - London (June 12 – July 9) and New York (June 24 – July 3, 2021.) The inaugural London edition, Every Woman Biennial London, will take to the streets with performances and public art, including transforming male-dominated monuments, as well as continuing the Biennial’s traditional salon-style gallery exhibitions showcasing and bringing together 200+ female and non-binary artists with works by acclaimed artists presented alongside emerging artists invited through an open call. A special feature of Every Woman Biennial London will be collaborations with organisations, across mediums and disciplines, including: Queer Art Projects, London Festival of Architecture, Gazelli House, Aether Magazine, The Rectory Projects, Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair, and more.

The Biennial was launched in NYC in 2014 by founder C. Finley, originally as The Whitney Houston Biennial, presented independently and simultaneously with The Whitney Museum Of American Art Biennial, as a way to provide a platform and exposure for more female artists. Every other year, Every Woman Biennial continues to bring together women and non-binary artists in exhibitions, performances, and programs. The Biennial expanded to Los Angeles in 2019, and C. Finley and Molly Caldwell are excited to initiate London as its “sister city” for 2021, collaborating with Every Woman Biennial London programming directors Eddy Grattan-Bellew and Ruby Streek.

The 4th presentation in New York City will evolve to take on and diversify the male dominated NFT world, giving 300 hundred women and non-binary artists the opportunity to reach new audiences and sell their art. It will be presented on the NFT platform and viewable on screens in a physical presentation at Superchief Gallery NFT, NY, from June 24-July 3, 2021. The traditional gallery and public art presentation of Every Woman Biennial will return in 2022 in NY to time with The Whitney Museum Of American Art Biennial. WHAT: Every Woman Biennial London, the “sister” festival to Every Woman Biennial NYC, will create exhibition opportunities for hundreds of London-based and international female and non-binary artists to exhibit their work through public installations, performances, gallery exhibitions, live music, and workshops.

Every Woman Biennial London Emerging Artists Prize: Five emerging artists will receive a prize of £100, from money raised by a crowdfunding campaign, with each artist selected by one of the jury members: Daria Khan, Director of Mimosa House London; Sippin’ T, Founder of BBZ London; Lizzie Glendinning, Director of the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair; Mia Sakai, Editor in Chief of Aether Magazine; Kemi Alemoru, Culture Editor of Gal-Dem.

Tereza Buskova public art project and workshops produced in collaboration with the London Festival of Architecture.

Artist and architect Tereza Buskova investigates issues of women’s empowerment, home, isolation and togetherness, bringing together cultural influences of her current home in the UK with her familial history in Central and Eastern Europe. Working with mothers in Birmingham and London, the artist will create a live performance, workshops, and a temporary installation of a large-scale replica of a Slovak cottage facade, infused with rituals and Slavic symbolism.

In Greek mythology, Galatea is the name of the statue that is transformed by Aphrodite into a living woman at the wishes of her sculptor. Private performances will bring historical context and current political discourse to temporarily replace, transform, critique, and breathe new life into select male-dominated statues and public monuments around London, including Nelson's Column, Cleopatra’s Needle (Victoria Embankment), Winston Churchill (Parliament Square), Queen Anne (St. Paul’s Cathedral), Mary Wollstonecraft by Maggi Hambling (Newington Green).
